Arke 2014 round-up and a look ahead to 2015

As another busy year finishes and we all head back to work with the January blues, Arke look back over 2014 and what is in store for 2015.

Arke had a busy year last year in terms of exhibitions, with stands at DVD and DPRTE. We also presented a paper at ISMOR in July on Cyber Security, about how to cost the potential impact of an attack and the possible mitigating strategies (our paper is here). We attended a variety of Industry and MoD lead conferences throughout the year, and contributed to a number of Subject Matter Expert workshops and field days.

Last year, our work was used to inform 3* decision making within the Land Environment and we were involved in a diverse range of cutting edge research projects across all domains. We designed and produced a new benefits mapping tool, which will be used early 2015 in a proof of concept study. To cope with the increased work load we expanded, and took on both a new permanent staff member and awarded a sponsorship bursary to a university student.

2015 looks set to follow in the same manner; we have already presented at the SCAF conference in February (slides can be found on the SCAF website) and are signed up to a number of exhibitions. We are continuing our support to a number of long term, on-going initiatives across the MoD, and have recently joined a new framework supporting work with the Emergency Services within the UK. Additionally, with an SDSR this year and further changes expected within Government, 2015 looks set to be another challenging and exciting year.

Arke wishes all our colleagues and customers a prosperous 2015.
